Yet another of Aidan's many hats that he wears is that of instructor. His versatility and creativity allow him to work in many facets under the title of "teacher"
Aidan leads Boomwhacker workshops for children, teachers and parents. He was one of the first people in Scotland to begin making use of these brightly coloured musical tubes that are now a favourite of music educators around the world.
These fantastically fun and innovative tubes are a great way to introduce kids of all ages to the joy of making music!
In Spring 2004, Aidan became involved with the Scottish Executive's Youth Music Initiative Program. This pilot program is designed to improve the quality and availability of musical experience to young people in Scotland. Through the Youth Music Initiative, Aidan visits Primary 5 classes throughout South Lanarkshire to deliver a creative and fun approach to music tuition.
Aidan has been invited to lead classes for numerous music and dance camps & weeks across the UK and the eastern US. Christmas 2006 found him back in one of his favourite places, Berea, Kentucky, for a third time as instructor and musician for Berea College Christmas Country Dance School; an internationally popular folk week in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. This year Aidan will be returning to co-lead Stafford Music Day and St. Audries' Bay Folk Music Week. Check the diary for dates!
Aidan provides his private pupils tuition in violin/fiddle, piano and voice.
